William Huckaby, a Revolutionary War Soldier, married Elizabeth Watley. On September 25, 1787, William Huckaby and his wife, Elizabeth, deeded 250 acres of land on Long Creek to John Cain: Wilkes County Deed Book CC, page 117. Also, on August 13, 1787, William Huckaby deeded 100 acres of land on Upton Creek to Philip Huckaby. Wilkes County Deed Book DD, page 223. On November 13, 1789, William Huckaby of Wilkes County gave a power of attorney to his friend, James Huckaby in Franklin County, North Carolina, to recover and sell 200 acres " to which I am heir at law"
