We humans are made of strong stuff.

You have inside you the DNA of heroes and heroines. You are your ancestors’ greatest dreams.

How many times have you bounced back from adversity? Trounced back from troubles? Rebooted your life and reinvented yourself?

If you don’t evolve, you die. It’s true of every species. Life happens for you, not to you, to foster the evolution of your soul.

Life can be hard, but you can do hard. During tough times, remind yourself how resilient you are. You are tougher than whatever has happened to you or will happen to you or is happening to you right now.

The resiliency of my parents fortifies me during tough times. My dad’s family lost everything in the Great Depression. During World War II, my dad left his small town in Ohio and flew 38 missions as a tail gunner over Burma to help save the world. My mom’s brother Chuck ended up in a prisoner of war camp in Germany for three years. Her brother Michael survived the Dieppe Raid. They believed in spite of it all and made it home to enjoy the miracles that freedom gives.

If we have it in us to survive that kind of adversity, we can surely handle the small stuff. And as we know, it’s all small stuff.

Question to ask myself:

What is my personal superpower that makes me so resilient?

Affirmation to repeat:

I can handle anything when I believe it is happening for me, not to me.

Action to take:

Scan your body and thank the strongest parts of it.
