Munday last went to the playoffs a decade ago. Former City View and Mineral Wells assistant coach Jeff Ward was hired last spring to change that.

The Moguls have finished the past two seasons with identical 4-6 records that include 3-0 starts against an easy schedule and a lone district win (Haskell in 2024, Seymour in 2025).

Ward inherits a squad that returns seven offensive and defensive starters, although the Moguls will be breaking in a new quarterback and leaning on a strong junior class.

Here’s what the Moguls’ new leader had to say about the 2026 season, which is less than two weeks away.
