For every assignment of this course I am required to follow Purdue's English Page for Paragraphs, The Elements of Style, write in a consultative register, and keep my full response as a single paragraph consisting of 150-200 words.

However, every assignment includes multiple questions and sometimes I feel like by answering them thoroughly I am required to include multiple topic sentences that would be better positioned in separate paragraphs.

Here is an example

Please respond to the following prompt as you write your one-paragraph

Using the -1 to 2 scale on your Levels of Commitment to Participation Rubric, how would you rate your level of preparation for the cultural event and your participation at the event? Justify your response with supporting evidence.

Please respond to two of the prompts below as you write your one-paragraph

What did you learn from the context of this cultural event? Consider the background of the performance or performers, the characteristics of the performance, and/or the attitudes/feelings conveyed during the event.

What is the historical context of the cultural event? Consider the history of the event in the community, the history of the performers, and the global history of the performance. Justify your response with supporting evidence.

What is one thing you did to prepare for the cultural event? What is one thing you can improve to prepare for the next cultural event? Justify your response with supporting evidence. Note: Preparation includes reading an article on the event, researching the performers or history of the event, watching a video on the event or performance, and researching the event’s impact on the local community.

Is it possible to answer prompts with multiple questions in a paragraph without breaking standardized rules of English writing? Are these common prompts for individuals of English speaking countries? Can a paragraph include multiple topics/prompts?
