How to setup a Wacom Graphire CTE-440 on 24.04

I'm trying to use an old Wacom Graphire CTE-440 tablet on a Ubuntu 24.04.4 using Wayland installation. I can't get scrolling to work. If I logout and login using Ubuntu on Xorg everything seems to work (except for a glitch that sometimes causes Gnome user installed extensions to be turned off).
