I wonder if people ask you, like they ask me, “Why do you focus so much on Israel? Why not focus only on the gospel and how to live out our Christian lives today?”

Here are eight reasons why the Bible says Israel really does matter so much and why Christians should focus on the nation.

1. Without Israel, we do not have the gospel.

Jesus said that “salvation is of the Jews” (John 4:22). The message of reconciliation and peace with God didn’t originate with any Gentile nation or even the church. It was through God’s promise to Abraham, of descendants and a great nation, that the world would be blessed (Genesis 12:1–3). God set apart Israel for His purposes and to represent Him in the world (Exodus 19:5–6).

They are coming for your money, and they have a ton of momentum right now. Democratic Socialists are winning election after election by promising free stuff, but of course free stuff is never actually free. Somewhere along the way, someone has to pay for it. If you find yourself protectively reaching for your wallet as you read this, I don’t blame you one bit. Socialism is a system where the government uses your money to solve everyone else’s problems. Unfortunately, it is also a system that is becoming increasingly popular among our young adults.

In a previous article, I noted that a poll that was taken in 2025 found that a whopping 62 percent of U.S. adults under the age of 30 now have a positive view of socialism.

That should chill you to the core.

Dr. David Bowen - https://www.interpretingthetimes.com/blog/is-socialism-preparing-the-world-for-the-antichrist

Is socialism an economic system, or is it a worldview? Why are younger generations increasingly receptive to greater government involvement? Can freedom survive when personal responsibility is steadily transferred to the state? Does economic dependence make populations more willing to surrender liberty?

Those are uncomfortable questions. But they are questions believers should be willing to ask. The Bible never says, “The antichrist will be a socialist.” Revelation does describe a future where political authority, religious allegiance, and economic participation become interconnected.

That should make every believer pay attention whenever societies become increasingly comfortable with increased governmental power, economic dependence, technological surveillance, and centralized control.

Terry James - https://terryjamesprophecyline.com/2026/08/09/something-has-got-to-change/

An article the past week struck an observational nerve. The commentary I read dissected the many troubling and disgusting assaults being inflicted by nefarious afflicters against this republic.

The bottom line the writer left the reader with is: “Something has got to change.”

The author went to great lengths to describe how so many constitution-eviscerating assaults are active in destroying this republic given us by the founding fathers. And it certainly is difficult to find reasons to argue against his findings.

Some of his description included how our constitutional republic was created based on conditions that no longer exist. The American population was 95 percent Christian. The implementation of “patriarchy” was widespread and embraced as the most solid foundation for society. Meritocracy was absolute. Cultural identity was rooted in Western civilization without any deviation or distraction.

Learning to Love Prophecy

After graduating from Wheaton College, I entered the financial world in Dallas. During my drive back and forth to work, I was intrigued by a radio program called “Christ in Prophecy” hosted by Dr. David Reagan of Lamb & Lion Ministries. I called Dr. Reagan afterwards, and he invited me to have breakfast with him at IHOP. It was a life-changing experience for me, as eventually he invited me to join the Board of Trustees of Lamb & Lion Ministries, where I served for more than 25 years.

I wondered why so many pastors did not preach about prophecy since so much of the Bible is prophetic in nature. One pastor told me he doesn’t preach on prophecy because there are so many theories and viewpoints that it is best to just ignore it. Bad advice! Especially since it is the only book in the Bible that promises a blessing to those who read and absorb it.

Something significant is happening inside the Democratic Party, and Americans who cherish liberty should pay attention. A CNN/SSRS poll conducted July 23-27 found about one-third of Democrats and Democratic-leaning adults now identify as democratic socialists. CNN reported 66 percent say they are extremely motivated to vote this year, compared with 57 percent of other Democratic-aligned voters. Democratic socialist candidates have defeated established Democrats in congressional primaries. Another recent Reuters/Ipsos poll found 71 percent of Democrats identifying as liberal. Taken together, the numbers indicate socialism is gaining legitimacy, organization and electoral power in the Democratic Party.

Running alongside that socialist movement is another disturbing trend: growing hostility toward Israel. CNN’s polling found 48 percent said they would be enthusiastic about such a candidate that stands against Israel, compared with 20 percent of other Democratic-aligned voters. CNN separately reported that the newly created American Priorities super PAC spent at least $5.6 million supporting Democratic candidates fiercely critical of Israel and AIPAC, helping democratic socialists win congressional primaries. Several successful socialist-aligned candidates share strong criticism of Israel and support ending American military aid. History teaches that political hostility toward Israel and the Jewish people can become something far darker when ideological movements begin identifying them as obstacles to their political objectives.

Fascism and communism wear different ideological labels, but when imposed as systems of government they can travel remarkably similar totalitarian roads. Both concentrate enormous power in the state, subordinate individual liberty to political objectives, suppress dissent and place government authority above institutions that might challenge it. Nazi Germany and Stalin’s Soviet Union demonstrated how deadly that concentration of power could become, particularly for Jews, Christians and others the state identified as obstacles or enemies. Hitler’s regime murdered six million Jews. Under Stalin, Jewish institutions and religious practice faced persecution, churches were closed or confiscated, believers and clergy were imprisoned, and atheism was promoted by the state. That is where these trends converge into a warning for America.

A growing socialist political movement increasingly hostile toward Israel, coupled with an ideology demanding greater government control over economic and social life, and the abolishing of religion, presents a clear and present danger to all true Americans. Socialism and communism historically replace private initiative and God-given rights with government authority. Concentrated government power has repeatedly brought repression, poverty, persecution and death in its wake. Americans still possess powerful defenses against that road: our voices, our ballots, our constitutional rights and our faith. Failing to use those voices and ballots while history waves warning flags before us is, say it with me, Stupidocrisy. Ephesians 6:13 says, “and having done all, to stand.” We must stand.

Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again—my Savior and my God!

—Psalm 42:11

https://harvest.org/resources/devotion/days-of-doubt-discouragement-and-despair/ - Listen

It’s not unusual for sincere believers to have days of doubt, discouragement, and despair. Even the heroes of the faith struggled in these areas. Moses was handpicked by God to lead the Israelites out of slavery and to deliver the Ten Commandments. Yet, on at least one occasion, he was so overwhelmed by the consistent complaining of the Israelites that he said to the Lord, “I can’t carry all these people by myself! The load is far too heavy! If this is how you intend to treat me, just go ahead and kill me. Do me a favor and spare me this misery!” (Numbers 11:14–15 NLT).

Elijah, after his contest with the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel, heard that Queen Jezebel had put a contract out on his life. He was so overwhelmed by his circumstances, so discouraged, so uncertain, and so filled with doubt that he said to God, “I have had enough, Lord. . . . Take my life, for I am no better than my ancestors who have already died” (1 Kings 19:4 NLT).

The prophet Jeremiah struggled as well. He was ridiculed and harassed for communicating the Word of God. Because he was tired of the pressure he was facing, it made him want to stop communicating God’s Word altogether. He said, “When I speak, the words burst out. ‘Violence and destruction!’ I shout. So these messages from the Lord have made me a household joke” (Jeremiah 20:8 NLT).

Even the apostle Paul had moments when he was discouraged. He wrote to the church at Corinth, “We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it” (2 Corinthians 1:8 NLT).

So, if we ever feel overwhelmed, the first thing we need to understand is that we’re in good company. Wrestling with doubt or uncertainty or being perplexed as to why God didn’t work in a certain way doesn’t set us apart from other believers.

The second thing we need to understand is that fear and faith are separated by a very thin line, one that often gets blurred during our walk with Christ. One moment we say, “Everything will be fine—no problem.” Then the next moment we can look at the same circumstances and find ourselves in absolute despair.

So, what’s the answer? We must recognize that we’re human, just like the great people of Scripture. We must cast our burdens on God and pray for the strength to place our problems in their proper perspective. The psalmist had that perspective when he wrote, “Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again—my Savior and my God!” (Psalm 42:11 NLT).

We can’t see the big picture of God’s work in this world. And our limited perspective is bound to cause some heightened emotions. That’s why we must place our trust in the One who can see everything and is working it all for good.

But don't be discouraged or disillusioned. The coming turmoil will provide us unrivaled opportunities to share the good news of the Gospel. So be ready to share your faith and your hope with those who need Christ. We still have time to reap a great harvest of souls for God's kingdom!" - Hal Lindsey
