We live in a post truth world now. Anyone can say anything and call it a fact.
Strawberries cause cancer. Beans destroy your gut. Beef tallow is the new health food. Carbs are the enemy.
You’ve seen it. You’ve probably wondered if any of it is true.
This is what happens when attention is more profitable than accuracy. When influencers sell confusion and call it health advice. When the loudest voice wins, regardless of the evidence behind it.
Rip Esselstyn has been watching this happen for decades. His father started reversing heart disease with food at the Cleveland Clinic in 1984. Peer reviewed. Angiographic evidence. Documented again and again. Rip saw it firsthand, changed the way he ate at 19, and never looked back. A decade as a professional triathlete on plants. A decade as a firefighter. Ten years inside Whole Foods learning what real people actually need to make this work.
He is not an influencer. He is the real thing.
Here’s what we get into:
Why the carnivore and keto wave is built on bro science, not evidence, and who’s actually funding the confusion
The truth about carbs, whole grains, and why 95 percent of Americans are eating what Rip calls “carbage”
The difference between the plant based products of 2013 to 2019 and what real whole food nutrition looks like
His father Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn’s landmark work reversing heart disease at the Cleveland Clinic
Adam Sud’s transformation, 350 pounds and addicted, to reversing 15 health conditions in eight months on rice, beans, and oatmeal
Why every nourishing meal is an act of self-love, whether you feel it yet or not
His 90 year old mother’s Guinness World Record dead hang, trained on a pull-up bar in a Cleveland garage
The new Plant Strong food line and the radical idea that packaged food should make you healthier, not sicker
Inappropriate application of a method is no reason for its abandonment. If it didn’t work for you before, that doesn’t mean it can’t work now.
You don’t need another opinion. You need someone who’s been right about this for forty years and can show you the receipts.
This is about freedom, not discipline. Once you feel it, you won’t want to go back.

About Rip Esselstyn
Rip Esselstyn is the founder of Plant Strong and the author of The Engine 2 Diet. Before turning his focus to nutrition full time, he spent a decade competing as a professional triathlete and another decade serving as a firefighter, where he first began sharing plant based eating with his fellow firefighters.
That work turned into national attention from outlets like NPR and the New York Times, which led to his first book and a career shift. Rip went on to spend ten years with Whole Foods Market as a healthy eating ambassador, where he built and led week long health retreats for the company’s unhealthiest team members and helped launch a food line built entirely around whole food, plant based principles.
Rip comes from a family with deep roots in medicine and health innovation. His father, Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, pioneered research at the Cleveland Clinic showing that heart disease could be prevented and reversed through nutrition. Today Rip continues that legacy through Plant Strong, his podcast, and Vital Signs, a gathering for healthcare providers looking to bring lifestyle medicine into their own practices.
