While the topic of defending capitalism may seem like a very timely issue, it is not. Capitalism has almost always been the recipient of deep criticism and concern. Defending capitalism is nothing new.
In fact, a year ago I was asked to speak with The Academy on Capitalism at The University of Illinois. Senior Academic Fellow Bill Kline and I had a wonderful and lengthy discussion. This video above is a snippet that explains why I am such a strong believer in capitalism.. regardless of how flawed it may be.

Perhaps my greatest premise in the defense of capitalism is that capitalism is the basic building block of value exchange. Capitalism is naturally occurring, self-creating and as embedded in the fabric of nature as the Fibonacci sequence.
