IT WAS SO EASY TO AVOID BY CHECKING THE RELIABILITY OF THE INPUTS TO THE WIND AND SOLAR FACTORIES.
Paul Miskelly and Anton Lang described the problem of wind droughts over a decade ago but the warning fell on deaf ears.

WIND & SOLAR ARE A NET DRAIN ON THE ENERGY ECONOMY.
They don’t generate enough energy to reproduce themselves and the associated infrastructure that is built to store and distribute the power from dispersed sources.
ONE MORE TIME – THE DISASTER WAS SO EASY TO AVOID BY CHECKING THE RELIABILITY OF THE INPUTS TO THE WIND AND SOLAR FACTORIES.

How much has net zero cost up to date, including the cost of the programs and the damage?

WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?
COUNT THE BLESSINGS OF WARMING AND CO2, THE BREATH OF LIFE
Throughout recorded history, the warm times have been the good times. In the coldest times, life was truly nasty, brutish and short.
The warming since the Little Ice Age has been unequivocally beneficial and we are still a degree or three short of the Roman Warm Period which was the best time for humans and other living things.
If we are lucky, we might get two or three degrees of warming before we turn the corner and start the downhill run into the next cold spell.
Fear of warming and plant food is driving the greatest misallocation of resources ever, with trillions of dollars worldwide, wasted on the failing transition to wind and solar power.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Bad science recruited by big government and scientific illiteracy in the community.
In his unpublished lectures, Popper referred to the menace of Big Science with too much money chasing too few ideas and other adverse effects.
Speaking from a very different vantage point, President Eisenhower in his farewell speech to the nation in 1961 warned that the nation’s scholars might be dominated by Federal employment and project allocations.
…the power of money is ever present – and is gravely to be regarded. Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite.
Barzun saw that college science teaching was creating a large, powerful, and complacent class of college-trained scientists at the heart of the industrial and political system. The technicians [normal scientists] - wedded solely to their workbench - will work for any group that hires. .. And the mass of people – the citizens - are trained to accept the authority of experts.
His remedy - teach science as a humanities subject.
