really like my class but the pressure to speak from my professor is making me nauseous

In school to become a nurse, and I love this bio class I’m taking but oh my lord do I feel the pressure. My professor- who I have dubbed Mr Doctor Professor (from that one scene in SpongeBob where Patrick and SpongeBob pretends to be a scientist to help Sandy get more funding for her research- “that’s MR Doctor Professor Patrick to you!”)- is a nice guy, don’t get me wrong. But he can be…

How do I figure out what I want to be when I "grow up"?

I'm finally diagnosed and medicated and the meds seem to be making a difference. I'm relieved and hopeful, but also a little angry and mourning my wasted potential. I keep asking myself what I could have done if I'd had the proper diagnosis and supports in place sooner. I'm almost 38 years old and I've been jumping around from dead end job to dead end job and starting and quitting degree programs…

How do I stop getting so overwhelmed and frustrated all the time at work?

I’m not satisfied with my job and am constantly stressed and anxious. And then I get self conscious and frustrated at work, and get mad and irritable with my colleagues. I try not to do it. But I feel so useless at my job and I don’t want to keep doing it. I feel like everyone always bosses me around and I can’t stand that either. Any advice on getting better at self regulation? I can’t just step…

How do you successfully Christmas shop?

For those who manage to get every gift on the list, it perfectly wrapped, and under the tree; all with enough time to breathe…how do you do it? I normally start prepping at the end of November and then somehow only buy a few super cool things for some people on my list (super selfish I literally only buy the things IK someone is going to cherish first b/c it gives me a 2nd hand thrill to have the…

Learn from my Concerta mistake!

Hi everybody! Long story short, I had my laparoscopic surgery last week and stopped taking my Concerta prescription. At first it was an accident, but when I realized after a day or two, I was juggling so many other medications and sleeping so much that I figured I'd just not take it until I was off all the extra meds and able to do stuff again. That wasn't the problem. The problem came when I…

Study/College Help

Looking for any and all advice currently. A little background: I, 22F, was diagnosed with ADHD late last year after pushing for a diagnosis since I was a teen. I'm currently redoing my junior year due to life events pushing me back a year. I haven't been in school since last fall semester. Between restarting my junior year, readjusting to campus, and navigating the diagnosis at school and my meds,…

healthy adhd friendly foods?

I've been trying to eat healthier, less sugar, because it makes me feel a lot better. these last few months i've realized that its a lot easier on my life to just 'pay the adhd tax' right away, instead of buying a bunch of ingredients i'll let go bad and order food, i buy ready-meals, salad kits, snack bars etc. it's been a bit limited due to trying to eat healthier and still get all my nutrients…

I relate to many ADHD symptoms, but as a teenage girl, I don't want to assume it's ADHD.

Before you ask, no, I did not get a proper diagnosis nor can we ever afford one. Both of my closest family members do not know that I have similar experiences with other people's stories about their ADHD and from adhd experts/psychologists online talking about it. Not that I've ever expressed myself clearly to them... But that's only semi-related as to why I've made this post. My goal in making…

Joint pain on concerta(54mg-ER)

Hello everyone! I recently switched from concerta to vyvanse after being on it for 8 years. During this time I experienced really bad joint pain in my knees and hips that, for the past few years has gotten bad enough to disrupt my sleep. I’ve been on vyvanse for a couple days and the joint pain has not returned since. Is this a side effect that anyone else has experienced? submitted by…
