Priscilla Woolworth · Priscilla’s Newsletter

Hello Friends,

I’ve always found it fascinating how differently people move through the same landscape. On walks along the creek and into the woods near my home, some fill the air with conversation, barely pausing to notice the towering trees, the rich scent of earth beneath their feet, or the sweet sound of water coursing over stone. Others fall into a quieter rhythm—stopping, listening, breathing deeply—as they take in the world around them.

I am of the latter kind. I walk slowly, attentively—looking, inhaling the sweet air, resting a hand against the bark of a tree. I notice the small, miraculous details: a wood turtle easing its way along the path, a fawn standing quietly among the ferns, an eagle poised high in the branches above.

This issue features two people I deeply admire and have followed for years. One is the subject of a newly released documentary I’m eager to watch (he has been featured several times in this Newsletter); the other has profoundly shaped my own approach to caring for the land and tending my garden. You’ll also find a closer look at a familiar vegetable coming into season—along with its many health benefits—as well as a piece on clothing made from plants grown in the garden, and a collection of what I’ve been reading, watching, and listening to over the past month.

Onwards!
