Bia Granja · POV: Creator Economy

Ok, so I was doing my weekly scroll through the many cool events that The Lighthouse offers exclusively to its members and one invitation caught my attention.

It was called:

“The Creator Revolution and the Future of Hollywood” by Altitude IP Holdings.

It immediately caught my eye because right now I’m very deep into studying the convergence of Hollywood and the Creator Economy.

I’ve been mapping the models, the companies, the leaders, the infrastructure… Basically everything inside this new thing I’ve been calling HollyTube.

And yet, I had never heard of Altitude IP Holdings before. So what did I do?

I started to stalk research the company and everything about it…

What I found is WILD, and I felt like sharing it here with you immediately.

Ok, so, for the first time, someone is trying to build an index fund of creator intellectual property.

  1. First: that the Creator Economy is now an IP Economy and there is no turning back. If you are not doing it, you are already behind!

  2. Second… what exactly are they building?

Altitude is trying to do something that already exists in finance, but applying it to creator intellectual property.

Think about an index fund. When investors buy a fund that tracks the S&P 500, they are not investing in just one company. They are buying a diversified portfolio of many companies at once, right?

The logic is simple: some companies will perform ok, some will performe very well and a few will become giants. The index captures the growth of the whole system.

Altitude wants to apply that same logic to creator IP.

Instead of building a portfolio of companies, they want to build a portfolio of creator intellectual property. Things like:

  • YouTube shows

  • creator-led studios

  • podcast networks

  • characters and narrative worlds

  • formats that can expand into film, TV, games or licensing

Yeah, they are definitely not investing in posts. And they are also not investing in influencers and their egos. They are investing in the IP behind the posts.

Unfortunately it’s not open to normal humans like us to invest in. #poor This isn’t a public fund you can buy through your brokerage account. It works much more like a private equity fund.

Altitude raised a $250 million fund from institutional investors. That means family offices, funds and large investors who want exposure to the growing intellectual property economy.

What are they seeing that we are not?

First, investors are realizing that creators are no longer just distribution channels. They are becoming IP factories.

For years the Creator Economy was mostly about attention: followers, views, engagement and audience size. But that phase is quickly becoming the foundation layer, not the end game. The real long term value sits in the intellectual property being created around and with that audience.

I've actually been covering this shift here for a while now.

If you think about it, what many successful creators are building today already looks a lot like the early infrastructure of IP: recurring formats, serialized shows, narrative worlds full of lore, communities that function as the engine of distribution and increasingly entire creator-led studios producing and expanding those universes.

When you start looking at creators through this lens, it becomes much easier to understand why investors might suddenly see them not just as influencers, but as early-stage IP companies.

HollyTube is a small, curated immersion I’m hosting here in Los Angeles in May where we spend a few days meeting the companies, studios and operators building the new intersection between Hollywood and the Creator Economy.

Instead of studying this industry from the outside, we go inside the ecosystem: creator-led studios, platforms, production companies and the people experimenting with new models of storytelling, distribution and intellectual property.

What’s happening right now is bigger than “influencer marketing”.

The entertainment system is being rebuilt in real time and it does not yet have a clear playbook.

Every company is experimenting with different models: creator studios, vertical storytelling, platform partnerships, brand-funded entertainment and new forms of IP ownership, like what Altitude IP is trying to build.

So the real question becomes: where should you place your bets?

HollyTube exists to help answer that question.

Instead of learning about this shift through panels, articles or speculation, you spend a few days inside the companies and conversations shaping the new entertainment economy.
