Vinyl is booming, but some fans are finding that the record they pre-ordered isn’t quite the same album they hear on streaming.

iHeartMedia reached another digital milestone as digital audio earnings topped its broadcast radio business for a sixth consecutive quarter in Q2. Yet CEO Bob Pittman says radio’s audience remains strong, with monetization the challenge — not audience. He believes expanded programmatic buying can narrow that gap. And a resilient ad market and stronger second-half spending provide more reasons for optimism.

Saregama is using generative AI to give its older film songs a second life, building new music videos for catalog tracks from the 1960s and 1970s that never came with video rights in the first place.

Recorded across the American South and Southwest between 1978 and 1982, the collection captures Delta blues, Appalachian folk, New Orleans brass bands, Mardi Gras Indian traditions and other foundational forms of American music recorded on front porches, in neighborhood bars, churches, family homes and community gathering places.

Starting Sept. 3 for all songs in a user’s library, free Suno users will be limited to seven total downloads, while those on its $8-a-month Pro plan — which gives users the right to license their tracks for commercial use — will be limited to 20 downloads a month.

AirStems is among the tools that have taken the LALAL.AI Special Award during the event; it allows you to remix songs with your… bare hands. AirStems turns stem separation, synced lyrics, and AI tagging, that typically live behind sliders and a timeline, into a live instrument.

The organization is accepting applications for a year-long program combining music business education, mentorship, and a $5,000 grant.
