If you have followed us online for any amount of time, you know our love of old houses. We live in one. We renovate them. We obsess over them. And there’s one house in town that we have always wanted to see the inside of. It’s on the oldest street with the biggest and most beautiful houses, and this one is absolutely our most favorite one. It’s the blueprint for exactly the kind of house we want to build on our farm one day. And guess what? Yesterday, we got to tour it! It no longer belongs to an individual, instead to an institution, so some calls were made from the previous owners to the current ones, and we met a few people at the house for a complete walk-through and history with the previous owners who restored it to its former glory. It was such a treat. It’s such a magnificent, grand house, and hearing the stories behind each room and why certain design decisions were made almost a century ago was so fascinating to us. We came away with a renewed sense of creativity and a wellspring of inspiration for future houses. I wish I could share pictures here with you!
It was one of those days where I didn’t close my laptop until almost 9:30p, which means we didn’t have time to go to the gym. So much for getting back on a regular workout schedule!
