I have a habit, a bad one, of drinking some kind of caffeinated drink in the middle of the afternoon for a boost of energy. Usually it’s an energy drink, sometimes it’s a cup of coffee. Yesterday I told myself I wasn’t going to drink one because I really need to cut that habit out, or at least drastically reduce the amount I’m consuming since I know they’re not good for me. As a result, though, I was dragging by midday. Apparently PJ was, too. After picking up our oldest from school, we came home and decided to lay down for a second on our bed to rest. All of a sudden, something came over us and it was like we couldn’t get up. We were both exhausted. PJ texted our assistant (who was just in the living room) and asked if he could pick up our other two from school for us while we rested. He obliged, and then took them all to the park afterwards so we could get even more rest. How great is that? We ended up taking a very long, very relaxing nap. I wouldn’t say I woke up refreshed, because I woke up and was still a little tired, but just being able to take a nap in the middle of the day with my husband feels like a small luxury that I don’t want to ever take for granted. When we turned off the night last night as we hopped into bed, we said good night and I love you, and I told PJ, “I really liked taking a nap with you today.” He said, “I really liked taking a nap with you today, too.” I’m not saying this is going to be an everyday occurrence, but you better believe when it does happen, it will always be my Keep.

We filmed PJ talking about his dad’s death for an upcoming YouTube vlog, and it got really emotional. Everything is still so raw, so new, and it’s hard seeing a person you love in so much pain and knowing there’s nothing you can do to take it away from them. Time. It will just take time.

What’s your Keep & Delete for today?
