Join us on another trip down memory lane. Revisiting stories that we have been telling, deconstructing some of those page designs plus popping some of our older products on sale for this week’s flash sales.
CONNECTING OUR PASTS, BY LYNN
One thing I love about working with photos is that it makes me very connected to my past through constantly looking through old photos, and it also makes me draw connections between photos from different eras.
I enjoyed hunting out this old school photo of me, nothing the wonky ribbons in my hair and how relaxed and happy I looked for once - possibly because the photos that year were taken in the school library.
Look at those vintage books behind me! They must have looked pretty retro even at the time the photo was taken!
This photo was black and white so an easy match with the colours of the ‘Noted’ kit. I simply added a very subtle greenish tint to it.
One thing I love about this kit is the neutral and black elements and touches, which are great for adding details to any page. You can see how I used the black in both my pages.
And then I found this photo of the youngest, happily reading while eating her after school snack.
It made me think about how much we both love reading, and how we just taught ourselves when really young.
Not just that, there is no doubt looking at both of us that we are mother and daughter!
Although this photo was colour, it was also easy to match with the kit as the soft blue of her top was the perfect complement to the muted orange and green of the kit.
Here’s the ‘Noted’ kit I used:
BIRDS OF A FEATHER FLOCK TOGETHER, BY RACHEL
We are nothing without each other and so this week I’m deconstructing pages themed around spending time with each other, aka our ‘tribes’.
Whether your tribe is your spouse, members of your family or dear friends, I hope these page design ideas connect with you somehow.
I adore this photo snapped by Susanne of her little people in a row, taking in the view. The tone and mood of this quite moment enhanced by the powerful choice of white or negative space in this delightful composition.
“birds of a feather flock together” was a perfect pocket card to theme the message behind this gorgeous spread by former team member Yin and here she tells the story of what ‘us’ looks like for her.
I adore that she chose a blocked and pocket style for the left side and went a little looser with my mixed media bits for the second page. Swoon!
I also made a page with this collaboration, ‘birds of a feather’ and it was a quiet moment with my little one. I just fell in love with that smile, her little hat and her love for that little dolly, which she aptly named ‘big baby’ as it was the largest doll in her collection at that time.
Tribes come in all shapes and sizes and are often very hairy!!
Here are a few more sweet photos that have been documented and paired with my ‘oh so lovely’ collection.

Maybe like me, you have a photo roll packed with photos of ‘your tribe’ that you’ve still got to document.
