OK so Wednesday Building Posts are back (Friday posts are more generally UX/AI focused). I had a great break, we went to the south of Portugal, which is really cool (and cooler than Madrid), and has some great beaches.
So a few weeks back I wrote about building with AI and IKEA. The idea is: what do your customers really want (for Ikea, it’s affordable and practical design, for Amazon it’s selection, low price and fast delivery). And how can AI make us (as a UX or Product person) better at delivering that?
AIKEA! (dad joke eye roll)
If you can figure out what customers want, and then relentlessly focus on that, that does seem to create great businesses. I’m building Sputnik, which gives your agents podcast and newsletter transcriptions. It’s pretty darn cool data if I say so myself, and you can’t really get it anywhere else. But how do we find out what customers want? Back to talking to people. Oldskool. Hence the dad jokes.
Me! Everyone wants to know what people are saying about them (name search) or their products.
My competitors! And then they want to know what their competitors are doing.
Practical stuff. Finally they want practical things like who is sponsoring podcasts like mine, who should I invite as guests, who are the influencers etc.
I still think I don’t really have it nailed though. So if there’s something you’d like to use podcast/newsletter data for, just ping me, we’ll have a call and I’ll set you up with a free test account.
Health and happiness,
Peter
PS: it’s still August and still really hot in Madrid.
