Baseball Rule Changes
Recent Baseball rule changes I like:
Putting time limits on pitchers & batters to emphasize league-wide desire to speed up the play of the game.
Batter & catcher replay challenges of balls & strikes
In extra innings a runner is placed at second base
Relief pitchers must face 3 hitters minimum
Computers employing AI in dugout by managers & players to analyze probabilities & tendencies of game situations.
Wireless communication between the pitcher & catcher currently in the game.
Intentional walks are immediate, no more throwing 4 pitches

A Return To GWMS
GWMS/RHS alumni and sought after NYC artist Alex Alpert visited his old stomping ground at GW, reconnecting with art teacher Jennifer Manke. He toured the building and made plans for a possible future collaboration. He even found his eighth grade ceiling tile project which still adorns our hallway. Alex is currently collaborating with corporations like Sharpie, Nike, Amex, Red Bull, Adobe and more. His art is popping up everywhere. He even made a custom GW themed drawing during his visit. At lunch, coach Chuck Johnson, coach Jeff Yearing, and myself got a chance to sit with the Carolina Hurricanes, strength and conditioning coach former Ridgewood teacher trainer and incredible role model Billy Burniston. Bill brought the Stanley Cup up to his Ridgewood roots.
A great story of a young man who went for it in so many ways and now is considered the top in his field
Rock Hound
Took a drive out to Sturgeon Bay yesterday to check out the new paint job on the North Pierhead Light. It looks great! The lighthouse has been privately owned for the last year or so, and the new owner has done a wonderful job maintaining it, and also giving us glimpses of the inside and the restoration that’s being done. It’s a pretty cozy living space inside the lighthouse now, although I don’t think that it’s lived in full time.
If you’re interested in following the activities in and around the lighthouse, the owner maintains a facebook page simply called “Sturgeon Bay Lighthouse.”
