For 12 months Jupiter has been “exalted” in Cancer, expanding the generous, protective energies of motherly nourishment found in the archetypal Crab.
Jupiter’s connection to ideals and beliefs fuelled a collective charge around Cancer’s themes of “home” and “the homeland,” fuelling various patriotic narratives for better or worse. Cancer can be extremely defensive in this way.
While Jupiter is the “greater benefic” who indeed stops a lot of space junk from crashing into us, he can also go over the top, losing sight of limits, becoming zealous, arrogant and unchecked. Just look at the mythos of Zeus/Jupiter, King of the Gods. Generally doing whatever he likes, whenever he likes, just because he can… regardless of consequences.
But, he is “The King” after all.
I found it interesting that during Jupiter in Cancer we saw the “No Kings” protests in response to the excessive confidence and arrogance of Donald Trump, who does have an exact Jupiter-Uranus trine in his chart. “A Rebel King.”

Personally, I had high romantic hopes for Jupiter’s transit through my 7th house of marriage and partnerships, but since nothing exists in a vacuum, just as Jupiter met Venus in Cancer this month I discovered my (ex) husband has had a baby.
It rocked me. I felt the reality of being 40, single, and potentially not destined to birth my own children in this lifetime. Pluto squaring my Moon (womb) is also weighing in on that right now.
Because after all, Cancer is ruled by the Moon, so our own Moon stories got highlighted in this transit too. Mother stuff, womb stuff, the blood, tears, gestational power and cycles and tides of life.
And yet, as all of that arose, I’m also writing this from my new, beautiful home in a new, beautiful town, which is a really joyful and promising new timeline around the Cancer themes of HOME.
I think the big thing this Cancer transit has taught me is that safety is not given, it’s built. Relationally, personally and in the wider world.
Because Cancer is a cardinal sign, it still asks us to take the lead and say: this is what I choose to protect and nurture, because I believe it’s worth it.
So, what has Jupiter in Cancer made bigger for you?
Are some pearls emerging in these final moments?
Are you feeling nourished, or still hungry for a mother’s love?
Jupiter enters tropical Leo on June 30th, 2026 and will spend 12 months here.
Leo is the 5th sign of the zodiac, fixed fire, ruled by the Sun. Governing the heart and the creative solar force at the centre of all life. Leo is main character energy that radiates the vital forces of play, joy and visibility.
It likes to be seen and centred by the world around it, while also being brave enough to do so.
There is something in Leo of the childlike ego that’s both innocent and immediate, yet can in shadow become arrogant, stubborn and self-obsessed. This tends to happen when it cannot feel itself from within, only through the validation it receives from being perceived and witnessed. Healing inner child issues is critical to remedy this.
One of the most intense features of this Jupiter in Leo transit is Pluto being opposite Leo in Aquarius the entire time.
We are entering a great dance between authentic expression and the collective narratives and groupthink that the Aquarian principle governs.
There will be reckonings around hyper-individualism and glamour magic, the cult of celebrity/influencers and the immaturity that comes from demanding recognition from a wounded ego rather than honest creative radiance.
With the South Node about to join Jupiter in Leo, there will indeed be some serious ego deaths happening.
Optimism vs entitlement… a big theme.
Some major geopolitical cycles are also about to pop off, and generally speaking July is a huge month for the planetary story.
July 21st 2026:
Jupiter opposite Pluto as all three outer planets make supportive aspects to each other aka the “Barbault Basket” after French astrologer Andre Barbault, who predicted years ago that this aspect pattern would herald a dynamic shift into a positive new time for the Earth, liberating many from poverty and oppression and ushering in a new world civilisation.
As we meet this moment with digital IDs and central bank digital currencies rolling out a sort of tech authoritarianism, we can also spot the promises of decentralisation and free energy emerging.
It’s all about our collective consciousness at the end of the day, and I’m not entirely convinced that tech utopia is in our near future.
We may have some heavy Pluto in Aquarius lessons to learn first.
The last time Jupiter opposed Pluto was in April 2014, when Jupiter was in Cancer and Pluto was in Capricorn.
What was happening for you then?
I was just starting my apprenticeship journey in the Amazon, which genuinely feels quite “done” now.
Back then, Uranus was also square Pluto and Jupiter as part of a cardinal grand cross with Mars in Libra. That saw the start of justice movements such as Black Lives Matter and some interesting financial correlations to now. For example Alibaba went public in 2014 which was the biggest ever IPO at the time, now as Pluto and Uranus hook up again we just saw SpaceX break another IPO record.
Uranus breaking the status quo and Pluto ruling wealth/scorpio other people’s money.
This tracks because now we see Uranus trine Pluto, both in air signs, elevating the tech, information, language and collective dimension shifts in a huge way. It’s so quantum and Sci Fi out there right now.
I do anticipate a significant shift with the Ukraine/Russia conflict this July, because the last Jupiter-Pluto opposition in 2014 was when the Ukrainian president effectively sold out to Russia, leading to the annexation of Crimea and many complicated dynamics still being untangled now.
So yes, Jupiter can deliver blessings, but we also need to make space to receive them.
Because expansion requires us to stretch the edges of what’s comfortable and believe in what’s possible, despite the evidence of past pains or conditioning.
It requires faith. And that is truly Jupiter’s domain.
So as we lap up the last drops of this exalted Venus in Cancer transit, we can also set our sights on the incoming 12 months of Jupiter in Leo. A very different vibe indeed.
I think the line “fortune favours the bold” is about to get very real, but so will “pride comes before the fall,” because let’s not forget the South Node will also enter Leo soon.
Our very definition of who and what gets to be centre stage is ready to transform.
And…scroll down for your Jupiter in Leo playlist.
ARIES
Just as the last 12 months have amplified the way you experience home, physically and energetically, now you will be creating from that place in bigger ways. Jupiter is moving into your 5th house of children, so if you want to birth something, the next 12 months are ideal. Remember, when you move from a sense of being truly yourself and well nourished, you can create with joy. Leo is also your house of pleasure and lovers, so embrace the romance of life and play.
TAURUS
Have you been speaking up or moving around more than usual these last 12 months? Jupiter in your 3rd house of communication and local travel has been schooling you in how to feel safer in your immediate environment by having the conversations required to create that. If you don’t ask, you don’t get. Now Jupiter heads into your 4th house of home, ancestry and roots, asking you to widen at the base. Your inner child stuff is so important when it comes to how much you can receive at home. Can you find the joy in your lineage and let that boldly nourish your creativity from the ground up?
GEMINI
Cash rules everything around you, but what about love? Jupiter just spent 12 months in your 2nd house of self-worth and personal finances. What did you learn about how to receive more? Now he moves into your 3rd house and you are going to need to find language that speaks from the heart, not just your clever head. What do you love and value most, and are you brave enough to own it and be seen expressing it?
CANCER
Lovely Cancer, how was that? Has your sense of self expanded? Or your waistline? Or both? Jupiter in your 1st house for 12 months has been showing the world how valuable your nature is, the way you want to protect and nurture the world around you, while also making you seem bigger in all the ways. Now Jupiter enters your 2nd house of self-worth and personal resources. Time to let your inner child receive. Your confidence and authenticity is directly tied to your bank account, and the next 12 months are going to make that abundantly clear.
LEO
Time to polish your crown because you are stepping back on the stage. It’s not easy having Pluto in your 7th house of partnerships, but it’s teaching you the difference between being self-sourced and self-absorbed. Jupiter has been expanding your deep inner world and fears for 12 months. Now he moves into your 1st house of the self and your identity is ready to expand. With the South Node in Leo, you will be leaving behind some of what you thought gave you confidence, but by truly allowing relationships to mirror your shadows and your light you can step into the next heavenly version of yourself. Shine bright, golden child.
VIRGO
Jupiter in your 11th house of hopes, dreams and community has been asking you to expand what and who feels like home. It can be tricky with Pluto revolutionising your daily routines for the next 20 years, but your willingness to adjust makes all the difference. Now Jupiter moves into your 12th house of the unconscious. In your dreams and fears you may find a deep return to spiritual practices such as meditation and prayer extremely helpful as you navigate these next 12 months.
LIBRA
Your 10th house of career, public reputation and legacy has been pulling you up and out into the world. I hope those opportunities to expand were fruitful. Now your 11th house of community, tribe and future wishes is getting a powerful creative boost. You may make new friends, and it’s worth checking in on how your creative authenticity is fuelled by the people you spend time with. Are you having fun?
SCORPIO
Did you get lucky with some foreign contacts? Did your ideals and philosophies about life expand and change? Jupiter in your 9th house for the last 12 months has been expanding your worldview and showing how faith creates a sense of safety and nourishment that is truly protective. Now your 10th house of vocation and legacy is activated and it’s time to be seen. Go for the promotion, get comfortable with visibility, and allow your heart to radiate with authentic confidence. Your home situation may be changing, but the world is calling.
SAGITTARIUS
Jupiter rules your chart, so where he goes, you go. Sex, death, secrets and other people’s money have been amplified for the last 12 months in your 8th house as you explored the taboos that keep you safe or limit your ability to receive life’s blessings. Hopefully something truly nourishing has arrived via one of these channels, so as Jupiter moves on to your 9th house of philosophy and foreign travel you are ready to let your true nature soar. New teachers, new ideas or opportunities for a longer trip away may well appear. Your fave. Consider the next 12 months more comfortable terrain, but beware of arrogant idealism, otherwise you’re likely to be humbled through the language you use and the village around you.
CAPRICORN
Ye old Sea Goat, what did Jupiter show you about how safe or unsafe it feels to be nourished and cared for by others? Did some Jupiterian characters hold up the mirror in your 7th house of “the other”? Maybe a new partner arrived and expanded your whole world. If so, congrats. Now Jupiter moves into your 8th house and can activate the urge to merge in a bigger way, financially, sexually or psychically. The next 12 months show you where you can let your heart’s fear of joy loosen a little and actually take up more space in these arenas. Be cautious of going into debt, but this may also be a time when the South Node releases ties to certain shared assets and asks you to transform your personal wealth in new ways through Pluto’s long journey in your 2nd house.
AQUARIUS
Your 6th house of daily routines and health has been expanding and changing up your beliefs around what actually nourishes you. Maybe you’ve been going over the top on self-care, but with Pluto in your 1st house for the next 20 years, it makes sense. You are changing so deeply. Now Jupiter moves into your 7th house of partnerships, marriages and open enemies. You will see clearly where the heart and the simple joy and pleasure of life actually matter. It’s okay to want to be the centre of attention sometimes, and Jupiter in your 7th will be showing you how others do that and how it works out for them. Joy is the medicine here.
PISCES
Cancer is your 5th house of children, creativity and pleasure. The last 12 months have amplified your sense of protectiveness over these things and also asked where you’ve overindulged or lacked boundaries due to idealism. After this really fertile time there is about to be a boost of energy in your 6th house of health, routines and rituals. Since Jupiter rules your chart, where he goes, you go. Get ready to really focus on your life force through activities that feel like devotion, moving your creative energy to energise your creations.
Because vibes don’t lie and GENEROSITY is a Jupiter theme.
