Hey everyone, sorry I dropped off the face of the earth. My second daughter is finally here! She was 8 days late and destroyed by whole schedule but she is very, very cute so I have forgiven her.
My older daughter is loving her baby sister and my wife is doing really well. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers! A lot of people across my audience have wanted to show extra support. I want to make a quick change to our reading list though, a quick switcheroo between C.S. Lewis’s That Hideous Strength and Thomas Nagel’s The View From Nowhere. Originally I wanted to keep the alteration between fiction and non-fiction, but I really want to move Lewis’s THS up, partially because I’m teaching a college course on C.S. Lewis now and it would help me with that and partially because I just can’t wait for you to read it—it’s so good, even if because it’s so weird.

Nagel’s book is readable but it is very philosophically rich, so we’re going to dedicate the full month of August to it. Don’t be scared, it’ll be a fun read but you will be stretched and you will come away knowing a whole ton more about philosophy. It’ll be wonderful.
