Pagebound · Pagebound's Substack: Page Against the Machine

Halfway through 2026 and we’ve already released a ton of new features and quality-of-life improvements! If you haven’t checked Pagebound in awhile, here’s what’s new this month…

You can now input an Audiobook sub-rating for any book where you indicated the format as “audiobook” or “tandem.” The average Audiobook rating is shown on the book page, and as more ratings come in, we’ll surface top audiobooks on the Discover Books page!

Emoji search has been improved, and it’s now in the app! This is a fun way to browse books, Lists, and Quests by mood or theme. I like selecting a random emoji to see if I can discover something unexpected to add to my TBR.

There are now 3 ways to add a book to Pagebound’s catalog, offering maximum flexibility. We have over 2 million books in our database, but if we’re missing the book you’re reading, we’ve got you covered!

In case you missed it, here are the other major product releases in the first half of 2026:

  • Stats & Wrapups—check the Stats tab in your app to see charts and pretty visuals of your daily & monthly reading. Generate and share customizable Wrapups (up to 7 different views and 8 different colorways)!

  • Book Giveaways & Limited-time Quests, in partnership with authors and publishers. Check out the Discover page if you’d like to participate.

  • Moderation tools—flag for unmarked spoilers and T&C violations + summon PageboundGuide when you see a post that doesn’t meet Content Guidelines.

  • Breakdown by Reading Status for your Library Shelves and Monthly Plan as a quick visual to keep you on track with your reading goals

  • & so much more: track a Reading Streak, earn new badge tiers for Main Quests, filter your home feed, profile, & Book Journey, find new reader friends via a featured “My Taste” book that rotates daily on Discover People…

We just announced the winners of our 2nd round of community-voted Quests. We had the most participation ever with 96 Lists nominated and are thrilled to have new Quests across fantasy, horror, and non-fiction:

Along with the Add a Book form, we launched our volunteer Librarian Program. Librarians verify user-entered book data, clean up existing book pages, and help us collect genre data with our newly launched Genre + Subgenre/Theme tags. You’ll start seeing more and more book pages with blue tags:

We’ll soon offer more creative ways to discover your next read through these tags! If you’d like to join the Librarian Program and help with these efforts, you can find the application at support.pagebound.co.

Happy Reading!

Jennifer & Lucy 💜💙
