White Moss on the Road in North America

That’s right: Anna Nerkagi’s novel of loss and longing in the tundra is coming to North America, in more ways than one! Read on.

2. Audible is dropping an audiobook on the same date! It’s narrated by Chloe Cannon, who is a musician as well as a wonderful voice actor. I got to hear the sample, and man, was it a relief to hear that voice. Highly recommended! Get it through Audible, or Libby, or wherever you source audiobooks.

3. I am also physically coming to Canada to talk about Nerkagi to anyone who’ll listen. It is a sort of homecoming: I lived in Toronto for five years in the past decade. A lot of that time I spent obsessing over possible connections between Indigenous communities across national borders. It felt like a dream then, feels still more like a dream now, but I cling to it. I need connections that are not mediated through nations or other forms of institutional discourse. Connections that are human to human, story to story, reindeer hide to reindeer hide.
