OMNI is Canada’s only multilingual multicultural television broadcaster and has programming in over 20 languages. Yes, a lot of it is in Tagalog, but my part isn’t (mainly because I don’t speak it). You may notice mention of a film festival, which brings me to my next bit of news…
On May 3, Outsiderness will be screened as part of the FascinAsian Film Festival in Calgary. I was invited to attend (they were even going to pay for me) but unfortunately I have other commitments that weekend. I may do a virtual Q&A. After the screening there will be a panel discussion on the topic of belonging hosted by CBC’s Chris dela Torre. If you happen to be in the area, go check it out!
