Sri Lanka health officials are reporting a downward trend in dengue fever cases over the past recent weeks.
During the current week, the 33rd, 2628 suspected dengue cases were reported across all 26 districts, compared to 3254 cases in the previous week, reflecting 19.2% decrease.
During the week ending August 9, 3257 suspected dengue cases were reported across all 26 districts, compared to 4387 cases in the previous week, reflecting an 25.8% decrease.
And During the week ending August 2, 4391 suspected dengue cases were reported across all 26 districts, compared to 6004 cases in the previous week, reflecting an 26.9% decrease.

To date, the Sri Lanka National Dengue Control Unit has reported 93,381 dengue cases since the beginning of the year, including 8,000+ cases so far in August.
The most active month was July with nearly 30,000 cases.
71 dengue related fatalities were reported year to date.
The Western Province accounted for 53.1% of total cases, with the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) contributing 3.1%, the rest of Colombo District 20.6%, Gampaha District 23.1%, and Kalutara District 6.4%.
