It is a slow grind incorporating powerful features into OrbitDB, especially when we are an open source project who relies on contributions by our team of core developers. You can follow our progress on the OrbitDB Github.
Recently, some kind person drained OrbitDB's very small amount of funds by executing a vulnerability in (we believe to be) Metamask (investigation pending). Therefore, we will be rotating our donation addresses and will make them available on our web site and funding page.
Riff.cc recently donated server infrastructure to OrbitDB for testing, demonstrations, proof-of-concept development and benchmarking. We have completed the migration of the various Docker containers and will start spinning them up in the next few days.

OrbitDB is an open-source project, built, maintained and supported by a core team of developers who are also community members. We aren't financed by big investors and we don't have a cryptocurrency token. Instead, we rely on the contributions of donors to keep this project moving ahead.
We have big plans for OrbitDB, especially with the next release, but we cannot make these happen without funding. We welcome cryptocurrency donations via our various public addresses.
