Welcome to OpenBuild Dev Digest #112!
This issue covers crypto industry restructuring, the revised governance framework for x402 agent payment protocol, and shifting Web3 attack vectors. Over 100 projects have wound down orderly in 2026, including veteran mid-tier exchanges BitMart and BitMEX. Unlike the catastrophic collapses of 2022, current closures stem from unsustainable cost structures and overreliance on new user inflow, forcing builders to prioritize real revenue. For x402, industry advocates an open protocol core paired with a unified accountability layer operated by gateway providers to handle verification, risk control and dispute resolution, while blockchains remain solely for final settlement. OKX’s H1 security report confirms hackers are shifting targets from smart contracts to signing workflows, user devices and autonomous AI agents, with automated AI exploits becoming the dominant systemic threat.

Eazo · Global Youth AI Agent Hackathon Is Officially Open
This is a humanities-friendly, creativity-driven AI Agent hackathon, launching simultaneously in Beijing, Shanghai, and Singapore.
This time, OpenBuild joins the Global Youth AI Agent Hackathon as a co-organizer. We want to invite not only developers, but also humanities students, designers, content creators, product newcomers, and everyone who has ever stopped outside the door of creation because they thought, “I don’t know how to code.”

Build compliant Web3 applications using Cleanverse Verified Identity (CVI) and Cleanverse Verified Assets (CVA) across two tracks: RWA (real-world asset tokenization with embedded compliance) and DeFi (gated lending pools, identity-based lending, permissioned staking). Build on any integrated chain including Monad, Base, Ethereum, Arbitrum, and BNB Chain.

Build the future of cross-chain tech. Teams will compete across five ecosystem tracks to expand Creditcoin. The top three teams will earn a chance at the CEIP fast-track process.
The Theme: Attestcoin Protocol. Every submission this season must leverage the Attestcoin Protocol.
The Attestcoin Protocol extends Creditcoin with a decentralized oracle infrastructure, so smart contracts on Creditcoin can verify events from other blockchains and execute cross-chain business logic without relying on a centralized oracle or bridge.
Show how the Attestcoin Protocol powers your project, whether through trustless cross-chain DeFi, tokenized real-world assets, gaming economies, or verifiable governance.
✍️ Centralized Responsibility Is All x402 Needs 👉Read(EN)
x402 does not need to become centralized as a protocol, but it does need a centralized accountability layer. Because payment verification and settlement are delegated to facilitators, trust is already concentrated, yet responsibility for failed settlement, gas abuse, refunds, and losses remains unclear. A practical path may involve gateways such as Cloudflare, Coinbase CDP, or Orthogonal, where one operator handles verification, access control, billing, dispute resolution, and risk. In this model, x402 stays open, while blockchains serve mainly as shared final settlement ledgers.

On July 1, 2026, Robinhood officially launched the public mainnet of Robinhood Chain. It is an Ethereum Layer 2 designed for financial services and real-world assets (RWAs). Built using Arbitrum technology, the network supports Stock Tokens, decentralized finance (DeFi), perpetual futures, and applications powered by AI agents.
Onchain activity grew rapidly following the mainnet launch. According to a Bernstein report published on July 13, Robinhood Chain recorded approximately $3.1 billion in decentralized exchange (DEX) trading volume over the previous seven days, briefly ranking among the five largest blockchain networks by DEX volume. The network held approximately $300 million in stablecoins and $13 million in tokenized stocks. However, memecoin trading accounted for a large share of the early activity, while the RWA applications for which the network was designed remained at an early stage.
The following ten questions explain Robinhood Chain’s positioning, technology, Stock Tokens, user access, and current ecosystem.
✍️ OKX Web3 Security Report: H1 2026 👉Read(EN)
OKX jointly with Elliptic, SlowMist, and OttoSec released the “H1 2026 Web3 Security and Risk Control Report”. The report pointed out that the focus of Web3 attacks is gradually shifting from smart contract code to more complex scenarios such as signing processes, user devices, operational infrastructure, and AI Agents.
Data shows that in the first half of 2026, OKX’s risk control system cumulatively intercepted 5.7 million+ high-risk transactions, among which approximately 2.41 million were related to hackers and theft, about 1.48 million were related to phishing, and about 990,000 were related to fraud. OKX Web3’s on-chain intelligence tag library currently holds 1.1 billion+ tags, covering 420+ chains, and has integrated capabilities such as address screening, transaction monitoring, and sanctioned address control into infrastructure such as DEX and Exchange OS.
In addition, in terms of user protection, OKX has cumulatively intercepted 7 million+ risky website visits, completed 200,000+ device risk detections, identified 60,000+ high-risk Apps, and intercepted or alerted on 4 million+ high-risk signing operations. The report also introduced the “proactive risk control” design in scenarios such as Exchange OS, Outcomes, RWA, and Agentic Wallet.
