We recently spent three weeks in Indonesia, starting in West Bali, then spent a few nights in Ubud on our way to Uluwatu, and finished our trip on the neighbouring island of Sumba. It's always a bit of a sport to pack for the tropics, as humidity and rain play a leading role in what makes the cut, but we luckily went in July, which was the dry season - my preferred time to visit. The days are long (compared to Aus in winter); it's sunny and pleasant, with, dare I say, an enjoyable level of humidity that felt like a warm hug. It makes everything a lot more enjoyable when you can dress with ease instead of for survival in that thick, damp monsoon heat.
I am a creature of habit , and while on holiday I generally dress with the same equation - a bikini with a barely-there dress or sarong during the day, and a good pair of jeans/cotton pants, a lightweight top and sandals in the evening.
Here is everything I wore.
I bought myself this top for my 30th birthday a few years ago, and it's still one of my most worn pieces. With jeans or, in this case, a silk pant. This exact pair is sold out, but I adore these and a fun option here too. I'd also love to wear these with it for a more neutral fit.

Zebra is basically a neutral at this point. Worn with vintage jeans or miu miu skirt from years back, this is a similar option here & here.
Of course, I am still receiving messages about this singlet. The absolute best cut & fabric weight singlet I’ve worn in a long time. I do like this shape in the same fabric. And the printed skirt can be worn with a baby tee or L/S on repeat. Red ostrich bag.
One of my best Etsy finds to date is this soft pink gauze dress. I bought this a few years back and am only just sharing it now, a holiday staple going forward. I think i might need to get this for Europe next month. Blue Lace is also a great option with swim underneath.
God, I love this dress; it does have an option to wear matching underwear, but in the spirit of holidays I opted out.
Worn as a top with cotton pants or as a literal swimsuit, I'll never be over how comfortable this stretch swimsuit is.
