A tile-based game created in 19th century China, Mahjong is now popular throughout the world, including in Edmond, Oklahoma.
The Mahjong Parlor in Edmond is a new dedicated space for gamers to meet, and learn and play the Chinese game. Owner Lisa Munz didn’t even know what Mahjong was two years ago. But, Munz quickly became a fan after a few lessons and created her own tiles, which she now sells.
Donald J. Trump is seeking a quick confirmation from the U.S. Senate for a former member of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Lance Schroyer, the president’s nominee to head U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement.
A former U.S. Marine, Schroyer would bring nearly 30 years of law enforcement experience to the director’s position, including work on immigration enforcement initiatives, including cooperative programs between local law enforcement agencies and federal immigration authorities.

With about 26 percent of eligible voters casting a vote in the June 16 Oklahoma primary election, the big news was in the governor’s race, where there was no majority winner, thus leading to a Republican runoff between Attorney General Gentner Drummond and former State Senator Mike Mazzei.
Mazzei has been endorsed by President Donald J. Trump.

Lawton came in among the Top 5 most affordable cities in the United States, according to TradingPedia. The study compared average local rent prices to the state's average monthly income. The analysis showed Lawton residents spend $865 for rent on a budget of $4,517.

In early June, Indian tribal leaders and guests celebrated the establishment of a permanent home at the historic Sundial Mansion in Oklahoma City for the National Native American Hall of Fame.
The 6,000-square-foot house at 4000 N. Kelley Ave. was built on a 20-acre property in the early 1900s by John Sinopoulo, an immigrant from Sparta, Greece, for his wife Katherine de la Montaigne. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
A drug trafficking search warrant at a home in Oklahoma City led to the arrest of four and the confiscation of 30 pounds of methamphetamine, an illicit and powerful central nervous system stimulant. The drug raid also led to the discovery of more than 500 animals at the property, the majority of which were birds.

McKesson Corporation, a Fortune 100, U.S.-based company that serves as a logistical and operational backbone of the healthcare system to help ensure patients can access medicines, has selected Moore, Oklahoma as the location for a highly automated regional distribution facility at the North Moore Industrial Park.
The project will bring 200 jobs and represents the first large-scale industrial investment in the North Moore Industrial Park. It’s a defining moment for Moore leadership and the town’s evolution as a major Cleveland County employment center.
