Alison Rice · Offline, With Alison Rice

Imagine a community centered on getting offline together.

A community full of like-minded women walking away from performing a life online to living a richer, deeper one in the real world.

Imagine meeting for gallery walks, bookstore browses or to thrift treasures. Imagine gathering to plan your personal seasonal curriculum and bringing your ideas to share with the wider group — films you want to watch, exhibitions you want to see, albums you want to listen to, books you want to read.

Speaking of books, there’s a book club, of course, but instead of just meeting to discuss the book, you also meet to read it together — shoulder-to-shoulder, binaural beats in the background, incense burning and snacks aplenty. Every now and then, you even get to discuss the book with the author.

There’s a physical library within this community. One you can borrow rare, secondhand books from. Books that support your desire to get offline and explore who you are beyond the algorithm and what you do for a living — think hobbies, craft, art, philosophy, ancient wisdom, poetry, creative writing, DIY home projects, herbalism, dream tending… maybe you even have your own books you want to share.

Once a month, you all gather online for a wisdom session. No frameworks, homework or hacks, just a highly vetted network of teachers and guides pouring into beautiful you.

As the community expands and becomes more resourced, you benefit directly. First access to intimate film screenings, writing rooms and hobby classes. In the highest vision, there’s a robust annual program and hosts in every major city around the world.

And for those thinking about going out on their own, an invitation to join a live mentoring session inside serve every other month — a living practice room for regenerative entrepreneurship and service business.

Last but not least, the all-important group chat. A private space to share your field notes from a life lived more offline. There would be a no selling or self-promotion rule, making it one of the only ad-free spaces in your life.

I’m writing to ask if you’d bring this community through with me and if so, how much you’d be willing to invest. The two polls below will be live for a week.

Sitting here basking in the sweetest part of co-creation — the potential of what this could be and mean to us.
