Since its release on Tuesday, we’ve spotted Bush Modern IRL at a few retailers (special shout-out to Eltham Bookshop!), which has been quite a thrill. We’ve also been busy posting the 400-odd pre-orders placed through our website. Sean and the kids have had a very cute production line going, so if there’s a drawing (urm, scribble) on your parcel, that’s why!
Some logistics:
If you placed an order prior to October 28, it’s either on the way or you may have already received it. For everyone else, we’ll post next week.
Those who selected ‘local pick-up’ can collect from our launch event this Sunday at Warrandyte Pottery, between 11am and 5pm. If you can’t make it, just contact us and we’ll arrange an alternative time.
We’re looking forward to meeting many of you there. Fingers-crossed the weather holds out, as we have visions of unwinding with a glass of wine (thanks NON, and Company Wine) or beer (Warrandyte Brewing Co.) under the gum trees.
But even if the weather isn’t perfect, we’ll have the gallery looking spectacular with design, art and various wares from a hand-picked group of local legends: Coco Flip, Monde, Mon House, Subtle Bodies, Brendan Huntley and John Borrack. Not to mention Warrandyte Pottery’s usual gorgeous ceramics. Worth a visit for that alone.
A note for the gardening enthusiasts: our launch event just happens to coincide with the Hanson Garden Open Day, just up the road. So, take this as your sign to make a day of it and check out this iconic example of Bush Modern–style landscaping.
See you Sunday!
Jess & Sean
P.S. Tickets have just gone on sale for our ‘city’ launch event at Uro Bookshop in Collingwood Yards on November 20. We’ll be speaking about the book alongside top-notch architects Adriana Hanna and Brad Mitchell, who each worked on houses featured in the book. More details to come.
