G’day, gorgeous readers.

Wimbledon 🤣 is nearly over, the World Cup 🤯 is well underway, and friends are already annoyingly posting photos of themselves beneath striped, ruffled beach umbrellas in Italy. 🎟️ It must be summer.

I've been thinking about neuroplasticity this week. Maybe it’s watching the elite athletes. Maybe it’s this clip of Shopify CEO Tobi Lütke sharing how he overcame his fear of public speaking. It reminded me that the stories we tell ourselves become the lives we live. It’s wild to think my own mind might be setting limits that don’t actually exist.

So I’m starting a little ritual.

Every day this week, when I sit down for a slice of Lemon Yogurt Cake with a cuppa, I’m going to write down one self-limiting belief I'm ready to let go of.

Let’s see if repetition helps my brain start to believe the new narrative.

Want to join me?

If you're baking along this week, leave your self-limiting belief in the comments. I'll check in every day. Don't leave me hanging.

Changing my narrative.

Very sad to hear that the influential chef Bertrand Grébaut, behind Septime and Clamato in Paris, died of cancer at 44. I’ll never forget the meal we had at the bar at Septime. It sent me straight to Clamato the next day. There are only a handful of meals that truly linger in your psyche. His did.

Andy Baraghani is opening a casual neighborhood restaurant near Union Square in NYC. I think he was born for this.

The Hugo Spritz is apparently the drink of the summer. That’s no coincidence. Just as Aperol did in 2018, St-Germain has been making a marketing push to promote the liqueur. I've been writing a story for The Wall Street Journal about the two elderflower spritzes I couldn't stop drinking in the summer of 2025 and continue to drink in 2026. Does this mean I'm ahead of my time? Recipes coming soon.

My friend is friends with Pablo Rivero, the owner of Buenos Aires's legendary Don Julio. Next week, he and his business partners are opening Graciela, an Argentinian steakhouse in the West Village. It sits somewhere between a parrilla (an open-fire grill restaurant) and a bodegón (a rustic neighborhood tavern). I can’t wait to hear how the soft opening goes this Friday. Mostly, I want the skinny on the flan with dulce de leche.

My friend Carrie was wearing the best blue shirt last weekend. She wore it with denim cutoffs and looked so pretty but also very hot. It had that classic Lauren Hutton meets Jane Birkin vibes. I asked where she got it so we could all copy her.

It’s Buck Mason Mainstay Cotton Shirt in French Blue End-On-End.

I’ve gotta say Buck Mason has got some great classics this season. I love this Vintage Linen Pleated Skirt styled with a simple tank. This Poplin Veranda Dress, with its side-button detail, would be gorgeous in either white or black. And this Surplus Rib Scoop Neck Tank Dress looks chic with sandals and pendant. It’s back in stock, so must be popular.
