The Four Gates is the name of two points, Hegu (A.K.A. Joining Valley) and Taichong (A.K.A. Great Rushing) which are used bilaterally. Their alpha-numeric designation is known as Large Intestine 4 and Liver 3. This is one of the first point combinations you learn in acupuncture school as their ability to move stuck energy is quite powerful. For more information about how these points work and why Jeff thinks of them like a mirepoix or Sofrito, check out his Blog Post.
We know that back to school can be stressful for both students and parents. So many new schedules, situations, and people to navigate….plus about a million emails to sort through. If the back to school shuffle has you feeling a little overwhelmed, we are here to help. Taking a break from your day to calm your nervous system can do wonders to keep you focused and able to flow with all the changes and emotions coming your way. If you know this time of year usually gets you spinning, book an appointment or two to add a little self care into the next few weeks!
Please help us keep our community healthy and prevent the spread of illness. Patients with symptoms of acute illness or viruses are not permitted to enter the clinic. Please rest at home if you “are fighting something off”, “feel like you are coming down with something”, “just have a little cold”, or have any signs of illness that are not from a known non-communicable issue.
This includes, but is not limited to: cough, fever, chills, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath, sudden loss of taste or smell, new body aches, or rashes or sores of unexplained origin.
We do not charge late cancellation fees for appointments canceled due to illness, so rest up at home and come back in when you are on the mend!
