Sept. 9 meeting likely to produce a verdict

The monthslong drama concerning whether an addiction recovery center on Yale near Gibson will be forced to cease operations, or continue under a list of conditions, won’t be decided until at least next month.

An appeal of a city decision to grant a conditional use permit for Empower Health Services was brought before the Albuquerque City Council on Monday. Councilors heard the Land Use Hearing Officer’s (LUHO) recommendation to grant part of the appeal and reject part of it. The recommendations were expected to receive a vote from councilors.
