This time, I will delve into the charm and true nature of the character Nezuko Kamado from Demon Slayer.

She is the younger sister of the main character, Tanjiro Kamado, and travels with her brother as an exceptional existence who is not a member of the Demon Slayer Corps. She is transformed into a terrifying demon by an enemy attack. However, she maintains her human ego and gentle heart.

The reason she fights is very simple. It is to protect her brother, who is her only precious family, and to protect human lives. However, there is always a great conflict in her heart. She has the ability to freely change the size of her body depending on the situation. This change between the innocent form of a toddler and the terrifying form of a mature demon represents her mind. It is the light part of a weak sister who should be protected, and the dark part of a monster that destroys everything. She is constantly swaying violently between these two states.

She desperately suppresses herself as she is about to be swallowed by the terrifying instincts of a demon. That clumsy and painful struggle is exactly the shadow she carries and her human weakness.

The reason her way of life moves the hearts of readers around the world is that she never lets go of love in any desperate situation.

In the past, she was gagged with a bamboo muzzle and locked in a small box, not even allowed to speak. The loneliness of not being able to communicate her thoughts in words in a dark place where light does not reach is immeasurable. However, even though she was deprived of words, she continued to show her love through actions. I am strongly attracted to her strength to wrap around people with quiet patience and compassion, rather than cursing her fate.

Rather than clinging to what was taken away by unreasonable violence, she protects the lives she has now with all her might. That universal and straightforward form of love crosses borders and strikes the hearts of many people.

If she existed in modern Japan, she would work and play an active role as a pediatric nurse.

She herself knows the pain of suffering in a dark box and losing her words. That is exactly why she can deeply understand the hearts of children suffering from illness or small patients who cannot communicate their pain well. Even without words, just holding their hands and patting their heads would give the children peace of mind.

However, because her desire to save patients is so strong, she would often clash with cold systems and strict hospital rules. I can easily imagine her showing her emotions and getting angry at doctors and colleagues who treat things purely as rules. Still, that straightforward affection would definitely become a power to save many children and their families.

Her way of life teaches us important things for living in the modern world.

As we live every day, we are sometimes almost swallowed by our own weaknesses and the darkness of muddy anger and sadness in our hearts. There are times when we face unreasonable realities and cannot even raise our voices. But, like her, we can skillfully deal with that darkness and turn it into a light to protect someone, rather than trying to force it away.

Starting tomorrow, let us accept our own clumsiness and weakness just a little bit. And I want you to try turning the pain you felt into kindness towards the people around you. Even if you do not put it into words, your actions will surely become a power to warm someone else heart.
