I write this from a blustery Somerset where that old Ford cars expression is a permanent pathetic fallacy - “you can have any weather you desire, as long as it’s rain.” Somerset truly fits the cliche of pastoral England; the rambling green hills, the drizzle, and the water droplets clinging to the window, all to the soundtrack of loud caws as crows flap overhead.
