In late September, the Supreme Court will decide whether to consider a petition from former Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis. The petition focuses on relief from some legal judgments against her—but it also includes a request that the Court overturn its 2015 Obergefell v Hodges decision on gay marriage. NewsVac has learned that the White House plans to show it’s support for Davis’s holy cause in the week leading up to SCOTUS’s consideration of the petition.

Our insider tells us that, while nothing is final yet, three ideas have really sparked enthusiasm around the White House:

Bumpit Day: A number of high-profile figures in the Administration will emulate Kim Davis’s signature hairstyle while conducting a social media push coalescing around the #BumpGayMarriage hashtag. A hairstylist has already made the rounds with an app to help participants settle on their look—and preview it. Fun was had all around, and one staffer was heard to say, “I feel two inches closer to heaven!” Our insider leaked a few images from the hairdresser’s app, which we are sharing here.

Glossolalia Day: Participants will wrap rubber bands around their tongues, fill their mouths with marbles, and read Davis’s petition as they roll around on the floor. Broadcast live on social media.

Benefit Concert: Christian singers and musicians are reportedly responding well to the idea of a concert on the White House grounds. Some have pledged to write songs just for the occasion. Our insider wasn’t comfortable enough to give us any specific names, but she did pass on a few song titles that she had heard being discussed, like The Ballad of Kim Davis, When Satan Came to Rowan County, and A Clerk Takes Up the Cross. She told us to look for an announcement soon that Lee Greenwood has added a new, highly relevant verse to God Bless the USA—and that he will invite Kim Davis to sing it live with him.

NewsVac will report more details as they come to us.
