Two days. Here is the most practical instruction of this entire series: do not come empty-handed, and do not come relying on your memory.
Something happens in a charged room. The atmosphere lifts, the worship carries you, the word lands — and when the call is finally made to bring your matter before God, the specific thing you have been carrying for three years slips your mind and you find yourself praying in generalities.
So write it down. Tonight, or tomorrow. One page.
Name each thing plainly. Not “family issues” — the actual situation. Not “finances” — the actual figure, the actual deadline, the actual door that has stayed shut. Where there is a person involved, name them before God honestly rather than diplomatically.
Then, next to each one, write the date it started. That column often preaches its own sermon. Some of us will discover we have been managing something for eleven years that we have never once brought to an altar with specificity.
If you are able, fast on the day — even a partial fast until the evening. Not to earn anything. To sharpen your attention.
And come with your list in your pocket. When the moment comes, you will not have to remember. You will only have to read.
