You’re not who you used to be.
But sometimes, your past tries to tell you that you are.
It shows up in your doubts.
In your patterns.
In the way you pull back when you should step forward.
The past is loud.
But it’s not the author of your future.
You are.
This week, stop rehearsing the pain.
Stop replaying what they said.
Stop measuring your worth by your worst day.
You’re not here to repeat the story.
You’re here to write a new one.
What part of my past still has a grip on me?
What would my life feel like if I finally let it go?
Write this sentence and finish it:
I’ve carried this for too long…
But today, I choose to…
Now breathe. And release it.
Close your eyes and imagine a stack of papers in your hands.
Each page holds an old belief, an old wound, or a name someone called you.
See yourself reading them one by one.
Feel the weight.
Then, imagine setting the stack down and lighting a small flame.
Watch it burn.
You are not those pages anymore.
You are the one holding the pen now.
Pick one moment from your past that still triggers you.
Write down the story the way your pain tells it.
Now rewrite it with the voice of your healed self.
Tell it from the perspective of someone who survived, learned, and grew.
You can’t erase it.
But you can change what it means.
I am not my past.
I am allowed to grow beyond what hurt me.
My future is mine to shape, and I choose freedom.
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing.”
— Isaiah 43:18–19 (NIV)
