Well so-called ‘negotiations’ are happening in Qatar with Witkoff and Jared not meeting directly with Iranian counterparties… what is likely to be achieved??… very little….

So is this Iran negotiation just symptomatic of how little Western gov’s can really hope to accomplish in the world these days…

That is actually something we have just been talking about on Disorder this week… And I also just spoke about with NYU professor Alon Ben-Meir host of the On the Issues podcast… our very intense discussion about the state of the Middle East will be coming out soon..

Can you answer why Russia et al celebrate at the idea of Starmer being ousted? They should know by now it doesn’t matter if Burnham comes in - support for Ukraine will continue as it did when it swapped from Tory to Labour. Are they just preying on the revolving door? Pound went up today as you said...Are they just aware that after Burnham there is no one to challenge Farage? I have a bridge to sell them if they think Farage will be able to block Ukrainian aid.

A UK / general western government question for you: what can’t they get anything really done? There’s no boldness, or big swings being made. Even the recent defence announcement in the UK was botched. Why are these politicians so timid?
