The first total solar eclipse to grace our skies since 2019. A beautiful astrological event to close out the Lion’s Gate Portal on august 12th. In this post, I’m going to teach you everything you need to know about this event and how you can use it to your witchy advantage! On the 12th of August at 1.46pm EDT, the solar eclipse reaches its peak. This is where the moon moves directly in-between us (earth) and the sun, covering the entirety of the sun propelling us into darkness for a short period of time. While this event is beautifully stunning to witness, it also carries a lot of spiritual meaning and weight behind it.
The main theme of this astrological event is that it will help you to reset and recalibrate your life so that you are propelled further along your soul’s path.
When a total solar eclipse occurs while in the sign of Leo, this event will target your personal life. Now, this is not something you need to get worried about. It doesn’t mean you have to start warding yourself and your home against misfortune. But what this event will do— it will help clear out everything that is no longer serving you, whether you want it to happen or not.
The Universe always has our best interests at heart, but sometimes we do need a bit of a kick up the butt to get things moving. So the things that you have been putting off letting go…the Universe is going to do it for us.
Now, I’m sure you’re all accustomed to me providing you with different manifestation spells to do with each astrological event, but in this case, I’m going to get you to approach it slightly different, this time around.
You see, eclipses bring about chaotic energy, and they shine light on the things that need to go, which can often lead us feeling uncomfortable and put out. For example, our limiting beliefs.
While I'm not saying you cannot cast spells to manifest money, or bring about a sense of new found abundance. But the eclipse shines a light on our shadow self. The parts of us that hold us back from manifesting that money. Negative thought’s such as “I don’t deserve financial freedom” “I’m never going to be able to pay of this debt” etc etc.
So the aim of our spell work during this eclipse is to help banish these limiting beliefs so that we are able to go get the cash that we want. Sometimes it’s all well and good manifesting extra cash, but if we have mental obstacles that are in the way, it is going to hold us back from getting what we want.
This is where things can get a little uncomfortable. To ensure we can continue moving along our highest path, we must confront our shadow self. Our shadow self is the part of us that worries, minimizes and downgrades ourselves. Learning to notice these parts and address them, is what will allow us to get what we want. And this is the exact benefit of an eclipse. An astrological event that reveals the hidden limitations about ourselves so that we can overcome them and move on.
And my best advice for this event, isn’t to cast a spell to automatically remove and bury these beliefs in the sand. It is to trust the process, lean into what the eclipse reveals and go with the flow.
Sometimes, more spells and manifestations aren’t always the answer. We don’t have to collect moon water under each astrological event. Sometimes, we just have to sit back and enjoy the ride. This is the time for doing just that.
To note: While we might not notice things changing right away, the second the sun goes dark, things may begin to crop up over the next coming months.
Instead of manifesting more things, manifest the ability to overcome the things that are holding you back.
Trust that everything that happens over the next day, week or month is the Universe working in your favor. When we surrender control, we allow things to occur naturally. Think of it this way: if we’re giving the Universe a check list of specific things that we want…we can easily and accidentally be saying no to bigger and better things.
Stay open-minded. Eclipses propel us along our soul’s path faster than we can even imagine. New opportunities and break throughs can come from the most unexpected places, but we have to be open minded to be able to accept them
