Rumored Sun of Winter’s Day
Or
The One I Wrote Beneath a Pale Midwinter Sun
Part two of The Winter Trilogy
Rumored sun on winter’s day. Her touch is warm though cold remains.
He sits and breathes and hears birds sing.
Wind’s secret voice through swaying trees, through fading leaves, though rippling seas.
And here he is, and there they are. New growth from webs of rot and filth. From damp and mould and fruiting mush. Soft friends to see him through the winter months.
But now comes light, through season’s turn.
And now comes growth, though this world burns.
Now all things slow and all things sleep and what we are looks deep within.
A time of lessons and integration.
A time to reap the harvest of the year’s hard saving.
A time to remember the earthen feet beneath.
A time to rest, lest our transgressions repeat.
