With WonderCon and Easter behind us, Spring upon us and a looming Comic-Con International (along with Monsterpalooza) it’s highly likely we’re gonna run into you sooner or later (hopefully sooner).
Our EXPLORER’S GUIDE TO THE MONSTROUS CRYPTID CREATURES is all shipped out (other than a few errant packages that took unexpected detours we’re tracking down).
The SWORD OF THE WAR-MONSTER, FORGE OF MONSTERS, and HUNTERS/ATLANTEAN books are shipping next. Then ISLE OF MONSTERS, GHOSTBOY, and MONSTER KNIGHT!
John Cboins is still behind on the art for RETURN OF THE MONSTERS but it’s looking amazing and we are down to the last few pages. I can’t wait to get that book out to everyone ASAP! We’ve learned a lot working on this one. Hopefully everyone loves this monsters-from-literature world we’re kicking off! It’s exactly the kind of classic monster story we grew up with and wish there were more of!
WonderCon was a ton of fun and our panels Monstrous Alliances and The Writer’s Journey went extremely well (thanks to Brandon Easton for including Monster Forge on his Writer’s Journey panel). The attendance was down at the Con this year but so many factors probably played into that…from high gas prices, to the No Kings protests, to two rather large conventions also on the same weekend (Planet Comicon and C2E2) so we’re very appreciative for all of you that chose to spend your time with us!

The greatest joy for us (aside from standing quietly and looking at the fantastic original art in certain booths) is reconnecting with friends and making new ones!
Here’s to amigos and amigas! From horror superstar and filmmaker Brea Grant, to team Diabolik (Ian, Phil, Mike), Madrid Skateboards and all the fantastic toy creators (Dreams of Robots, Big Bad Workshop) and TV writers (Ray, Chris, and more) it was a great weekend celebrating the things we love with the people we love.
We also got to catch up with comics royalty Tracy Kirby and Mark Ditko at the show! I was glad I was dressed up in my best Stephen King Rules Monster Squad shirt for the occasion!
