2025: The Year MobilityVC Hit the Accelerator

As 2025 winds to a close, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on what a tremendous year this has been: for MobilityVC, for the mobility industry as a whole and in particular for our impressive portfolio companies.

To start, I’d like to congratulate Pionix – creators of the popular open-source EVerest software ecosystem for electric vehicle chargers – on successfully closing their latest financing round. The €8 million raise, led by Ascend Capital Partners, with participation from Start-up BW, Pale Blue Dot, Vireo Ventures and Axeleo Ventures, confirms our conviction in this founding team and their vision to be a “picks and shovels” solution for the EV space, able to succeed from behind the scenes.

The MobilityVC team was delighted to welcome a number of promising new companies into our portfolio as well - we invested into Mansio, QraGo, SunGreenH2, GenZ, K2 Mobility and Eclara - via our main fund as well as our special hydrogen-focused MH2Fund. Our portfolio now spans the entire spectrum of mobility - connected, autonomous, shared, electrified and logistics-focused - and we’ve been here to help these amazing founders grow and scale.

But MobilityVC is more than just a fund: we think of ourselves as super-connectors, working to advance the entire mobility and automotive industries. This year, we scaled our advisory business, helping our friends at brands like Connexion Mobility, Fragile and SODA understand and enter new markets, secure capital, onboard high-value customers and grow to new heights.

Equally important are the connections forged at our MobilityCafe events. It’s been an absolute pleasure watching our get-togethers grow from casual affairs to must-attend gatherings of their own. In April, we convened 100 friends in Miami, alongside our collaborators at CoMotion. But even more significantly, in October we got 150+ leaders together in beautiful Huntington Beach, alongside amazing partners like Toyota Woven, Sunstone and Sydecar, for a full day and a half of new connections, investments, partnerships and growth. 2025 was a momentous year - with autonomous vehicles becoming a regular part of people’s commutes in cities across the world and smart companies making the most of the shifting electrification landscape - and it’s been an absolute pleasure to see our friends, clients and portfolio companies scale to new heights.
