Romantasy

I saw him again

Just last night

We took a walk

‘neath the blue moonlight

And all along

The winding path

He made me giggle

He made me laugh

Then we stopped ‘neath

The old oak tree

I looked at him

He looked at me

The stars

They fell from the indigo sky

And landed in

His sapphire eyes

I made a wish

On his starlit eyes

That soon came true

When his lips

Met mine

That's when I woke

To my dismay

Forced to rise

And face the day

That rain or shine

Is dark and dreary

Simply ‘cause

He's not near me

And though we may

Exchange a text

That's about all

I can expect

Without passports

Customs

And crossing borders

So in my dreams

Is where we meet

And he whispers

All those words

So sweet

But the ones I most

long to hear

Can only be said

If he were here

By my side

‘neath the sheets

“Goodnight, my love,

I love you, sweet”

Maybe someday

But not tonight

So I think of him

And shut out the light

Wait for him to come along

And once he does

I'll sleep so well

having sweet dreams

All night long
