So, things are… somewhat stressful politically and geopolitically. It’s good to have something to focus on that’s not that.
To this end, here are three non-political non-topical podcasts that keep me sane:
Monster Talk - “The Science Show About Monsters”: A skeptical take on all things spooky and cryptozoological that tends towards treating such things as folklore. If you start from the beginning, there are all sorts of treats including an entire sequence on Spiritualism and the Occult Revival, as well as the older esoteric tradition. Light hearted but always informative.
Deep Questions with Cal Newport: All about digital minimalism, deep work, slow productivity and the deep life from a very wise Computer Science professor. A dose of sanity piped through your ears into your brain. His books are also good (affiliate link).
Fall of Civilisations Podcast: Does what it says on the tin - each episode is about a civilisation and how it ultimately fell. Lyrical. Poignant. Beautifully narrated. A must for worldbuilders!
