Welcome Joe Bergin, Account Manager for the Northeast at HYCU on this episode of 🔥 The Lantern 🔥
HYCU is the world's leading AI SaaS data protection platform, supporting 100+ vendors across the modern enterprise stack
🔍 What does Joe do at HYCU? 🔎
HYCU runs a channel-first model and Joe spends his time across customers, resellers & technology vendor partners like Dell and Nutanix from Maine to Virginia.
It’s his job to find ways to deliver exactly what customers need across multiple use cases.
❄️ What makes HYCU’s platform unique in 2026? ❄️
Since the recent launch of HYCU aiR, Joe has seen a real shift in how customers think about backup & recovery.
There are plenty of vendors out there, but HYCU’s broad protection coverage allows them to address critical pain points sitting in customer environments.
Their team allows customers to use AI to maximize the insights they can pull from their backup data.
With multiple industry awards and one of the highest-graded backup solutions on the market, HYCU has transitioned from “health insurance” to ongoing “health coverage”.
Customers can leverage HYCU aiR to maximize the data they already have as they adopt tooling at a pace the industry has never seen before.
🧠 What has Joe learned from this AI era? 🧠
Embrace AI. It isn't going anywhere!
Joe is watching adoption accelerate across every vertical, with legal among the fastest adopters he's ever seen, and financial services close behind.
The smartest organizations aren't chasing AI sprawl, they're bringing in AI to solve specific problems to maximize value.
🤝 How can Boston help HYCU grow? 🤝
Spread the word!
The more the ecosystem knows a platform like HYCU exists, the more teams can go beyond their current backup setup, close the gaps in their environments, and turn backup data into real insight.
You’ll be hearing from HYCU this summer at MGMT Boston, rapidly scaling right here in Boston
Welcome Tom Dunlop, Founder & CEO at Summize on this episode of 🔥 The Lantern 🔥
Summize is a SaaS platform that makes every interaction with a contract more efficient and easier to understand.
Summize embeds directly in the tools people already use every day - Teams, Slack, Outlook, and Gmail - so teams can create, review, and manage contracts far more efficiently than before instead of through email threads and old-fashioned tools.
The contract is the foundational document of every business, every transaction, every obligation.
🔍 What are Tom and his team building at Summize in 2026? 🔎
Summize raised $50 million at the start of 2026 to fuel its international expansion, product investments, and team growth. Legal tech is one of the breakout categories of the AI era and Summize is at the center of it.
Tom and his team have built a platform native to the everyday workflow and just moved into a brand new Seaport U.S. HQ office to anchor their East Coast expansion.
AI is a huge amplifier in high-knowledge areas like legal, fueling five consecutive years of triple-digit growth at Summize.
In 2026, the focus is getting ahead of the curve on recruitment, and putting their proprietary contract dataset in the hands of more lawyers.
🤔 What advice would Tom give other growth stage CEOs? 🤔
Focus on the pain you're actually solving, because the noise around AI and “agentic everything” has never been louder.
Speak to customers in the language they understand.
Tom also pointed to the power of a customer network. Their NBA, NFL, and NHL clients refer each other once trust is built.
Last, learning the importance of your own voice as a leader setting a vision across a transatlantic, multi-office culture.
🤝 How can we help Summize? 🤝
Boston is Summize's U.S. home, but Tom is still a bit of a new kid on the block here.
He'd love to get more immersed in the Boston tech community, both to contribute and to learn from the companies building here.
And intros to General Counsels or companies frustrated with their contracts too. Check out the Summize team!
Welcome Sarah deSilva, Director of Operational Deployment at Blitzy on this episode of 🔥 The Lantern 🔥
Blitzy is building the autonomous software development platform that modernizes sprawling legacy codebases for the Global 2000 (and beyond).
Their platform reverse-engineers an enterprise's existing code into a dynamic knowledge graph, then orchestrates thousands of AI agents to plan, write, and validate production-ready code.
The Cambridge company recently raised $200M at a $1.4B valuation and Sarah's team owns what happens after the sale.
🏗️ How is Sarah and her team building a robust Blitzy customer journey? 🏗️
The Operational Deployment team are mapping out the entire 12-month customer journey, from a Day 1 handoff through onboarding to scale. They're covering everything from governance, to executive steering committees, as well as the other key touch points that deliver value.
Every milestone ladders back to one question: how can they map their work to drive success for Blitzy’s customers?
Sarah spent four years in Customer Success in the testing space, where value realization meant building a business case, a 3 month implementation, followed by a complicated ROI calculator.
At Blitzy, the first value realization event lands in the first few days!
Their platform ingests a customer's codebase and produces a Tech Spec in weeks to days, work that traditionally takes professional services firms multiple months on multi-million-dollar contracts.
🎯 How is the Operational Deployment team structured to deliver results? 🎯
Rather than traditional Account Managers who might hit a wall and loop back to engineering, Blitzy staffs genuinely technical people directly to customers: an AI Solutions Consultant as the main point of contact, plus an Engineering Manager, Client Solutions.
2 technical leaders who understand your environment and your codebase, operating as an extension of your team.
They've also piloted the Blitzy Bootcamp, a 2-4 day on-site program to certify customer teams as platform experts.
🤝 How can we help Blitzy? 🤝
Blitzy is actively hiring Account Managers, AI Solutions Consultants, and Engineering Managers, Client Solutions. Send referrals Sarah's way!
And if you know companies struggling to modernize legacy codebases or looking to accelerate engineering output and quality, reach out to the Blitzy team!
More from Blitzy at MGMT Boston this summer, one of our leading AI enterprise startups here in Boston, to learn how they’re building their team for Blitz-scale.
Welcome Noam Peled, Co-Founder and CEO of FIND Neuro on this episode of 🔥 The Lantern 🔥
FIND Neuro is building a decision-support platform that helps clinicians and neurosurgeons pinpoint where to target in drug-resistant epilepsy surgeries.
Epilepsy is a network disease, but the tools haven't caught up.
Today, clinicians record data from invasive electrodes over two weeks, roughly 200 channels, and manually look for the electrodes that capture the seizure onset zone.
Noam did this himself at MGH. FIND Neuro analyzes the neurodynamics to identify the brain regions driving the seizures, so surgeons know exactly what to target.
🔍 What's happening at FIND Neuro in 2026? 🔎
It’s a big year. FIND Neuro submitted its FDA application in February and expects clearance in July or August.
The team is working with 7 hospitals on IRB data-sharing agreements and a retrospective study. Boston Children's is set to start using the tool for all new patients. That's real clinical utilization!
🤔 What has Noam learned building this company? 🤔
Noam came from academia as an MGH faculty member and knew nothing about business. The learning curve was steep, but his co-founders helped.
Serial entrepreneur and investor Avi Yaron and Co-Founder Adam P. Lerner have helped him learn how to avoid traps and patents, team management, and the discipline of building a product clients actually use.
🤝 How can we help FIND Neuro grow? 🤝
FIND Neuro is “software as a medical device” and sells their platform to hospitals as a regulated product.
The team just won an award in Harvard's President's Innovation Challenge and is raising a Seed round in the coming months.
They're looking for investors who aren't afraid of the space, know it well, and can help them grow in Boston.
Any feedback for us? One thing you liked? One thing you didn’t? Local startups, founders, or operators to highlight? Just reply to this e-mail!
See you next week!
-Matt
