Sometime in the past couple of years, I discovered an app that could publish my cards as a digital download. Since downloading my own copy onto my phone, it has become the version of the deck that I use most often for giving readings to others and for my own consultations with the Spirit Realm. A sample reading from the “Deckible” app is posted here.
Inspired by a message given to me during a Stick Divination in the West African Dagara tradition that I received from Diviner Mark Bockley in 2016, these cards were designed to impart the Medicine of the Animals, Plants and Spirits embodied in the 54 card deck. The companion 80 page booklet (included with the printed version) contains instructions for use and messages for each card.

As a lifelong artist, I hadn’t considered creating an Oracle Deck from my work until I received the message to create them in my 2016 Stick Divination. I already had many materials to work with on hand including Journals filled with mixed media artwork and thousands of photographs. The first step was to scan the originals I had picked out from my journals to create the background images. The next step was choosing the photographs and adding them using Photoshop. This was not a one and done process. Backgrounds were picked out and then later eliminated as well as their companion photographs. The deck came together organically with a lot of assistance from the human and Spirit Realms. The messages came later. The images did the speaking for me, telling me what they wanted to say. It was quite a process to bring it all together to be ready for publication at the end of 2019. Of course we all know what happened the following year with the start of the Pandemic.
For the Cradled card, I was quite aware of the stories related to Mount Shasta, especially the ones about portals on the Mountain and how there was a civilization living inside called Telos. This was discussed during a workshop I was attending at the time. More information about Mount Shasta. This resonated for me as the energy of a loving Mother cradling her child while listening to her heartbeat like the sound of a drum while inside the Mountain. I could feel that this energy was healing for the Inner Child and composed the message for the card.
