Dear Someone: A Snail Mail Collective IRL Event

Dear Someone is a snail-mail collective where strangers become someone through postcards, creativity, and care that travels. You can read about the idea and original invitation here.

If you prefer to connect and create IRL, I’ve got some good news! I’m hosting an event on Wednesday February 4, 2026, 6:00-8:00 pm, to do just that. Tickets the event are here. Seating is limited, details in the graphics below.

When I first posted a newsletter on the handwritten note, I had not yet heard of The Correspondent by Virginia Evans, and so many folks shared the timely connection that I had to download it to read with my ears. My friend and stunning creative Mollie swayed me by sharing this quote:

“Imagine, the letters one has sent out into the world, the letters received back in turn, are like the pieces of a magnificent puzzle, or, a better metaphor, if dated, the links of a long chain, and even if those links are never put back together, which they will certainly never be, even if they remain for the rest of time dispersed across the earth like the fragile blown seeds of a dying dandelion, isn’t there something wonderful in that, to think that a story of one’s life is preserved in some way, that this very letter may one day mean something, even if it is a very small thing, to someone?”

Says it all. Long live the handwritten note!
