Recently I’ve realised that so many of the things I rigorously enjoyed when growing up are hobbies that I’ve revived in my twenties. And, in the classic full circle smugness of life that we should all quickly be accustomed to, these are the very things that bring me the most combined delight and escapism today.
During my schoolgirl days, I would sit at the family computer on rainy Saturday afternoons and churn out my weekly post on a clunky Wordpress set-up smothered in pink writing and excessive adjectives. (The website I wrote in my teenage years is actually somehow still alive but I won’t be sharing it here anytime soon, sorry.)
I gave my juvenile blogging efforts up sometime in the hectic midst of GCSE exams but in the years that followed, I still longed for a lowkey place to toss my creativity and whatever writing I felt like publishing. Around the same time, I self-published my first novel (which looking back was a slightly crazy move but felt like the most natural thing at the time) and was on the cusp of playing at my first wedding.
Writing this post now, I’m twenty-three and amused how seven years later, three of the core side interests of my teenaged years are now fully fledged pursuits in my life once more. MMTD celebrated its second birthday in late May and just last night, I finished off another chapter of the novel that’s been sitting in my back pocket since before my eighteenth birthday. Someday, it will be finished. (Although, with both my Masters in Law & an important legal qualification exam to polish off in the next year, it won’t be anytime soon).

The credit for what caused me to restart my schoolgirl music sidequest, which was first named Piano at Pemberley five years ago, actually belongs to my older brother who asked me to play at his upcoming Italian nuptials.
In the midst of crafting a wedding playlist for him and sorting hymn sheet music for the accompanying street quartet, I remembered how much I used to love doing this. It didn’t take long to whip up a logo, and thanks to the past three days with the flu, have enough time to piece together a Wix Website to ‘get this show on the road’.
Given MMTD’s regular Bridal Edit and longstanding partnership with the fabulous bridal couture body Phillipa Lepley, this latest musical venture shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. I’ve been playing piano since I was five years old and hold a Grade 8 (Distinction) from London College of Music with prior venues ranging from Crom Castle, Northern Ireland to St James Church, Florence.
As of just today, the Piano At Pemberley website is officially live. We offer four bespoke music packages for weddings across Northern Ireland / Ireland, beginning with The Chatsworth Consultation (necessary for all clients before bookings) and then including The Bennet (Ceremony Music), The Bingley (Reception Music) and The Darcy (Ceremony and Reception Music, full package).
Interested clients can first sign up via our Consultation form, after which they will hear officially from P@P and be sent a 1-1 virtual meeting request to discuss their vision for the wedding, which package they are interested in and then we will curate a personal playlist of pieces for their day and complete a booking if possible.

I’m very excited for this new chapter and now it’s off to the piano to get practicing.
