It was a Royal happily ever after for Harriet Sperling and Peter Phillips who tied the knot on June 6th on a rainy yet joyful day at All Saints Church, Kemble, Gloucestershire.

We’re continuing last week’s wedding theme rather unintentionally, with a long, overdue look at Harriet’s ultra elegant bridal look by one of the Princess of Wales’ favourite designers.

Harriet & Peter have long been one of MMTD’s favourite Royal couples (we managed to predict their engagement on our Instagram just a few weeks before it occurred) and have eagerly following the devoted duo since they first officially debuted their romance at the 2024 Badminton Horse Trials. (We actually had the pleasure of spotting the newlywed couple, as in love in person as seen on screen, at Royal Ascot this year. Read more here.)

If you’ve been with us for a while, you’ll know our big love for anything bridal and in the lead-up to this more low-key of Royal weddings, I couldn’t wait to see what gown the Firm’s newest member would select. Given the new Mrs Phillips’ supremely chic style, which incorporates just the right amount of simplicity with measured flair, I knew something timeless and graceful was definitely in the cards. June 6th did not disappoint.

With the Senior Royals present, the beautiful bride arrived via the BRF’s 1948 Rolls Royce Phantom IV to All Saints’ Church with daughter Georgina and step-daughters Savannah and Isla as bridesmaids (let me add the floral crowns and dainty white pumps were such sweet choices). The sweet teenaged crew also wore Wickstead in the very same crepe as Sperling’s gown. I often think it’s these sentimental and fantastically significant details that make Royal weddings so very meaningful.

Harriet’s choice of gown was framed around a wildflower theme and crafted from a variety of essential elements, including a lace overjacket, an additional underdress and a breathtaking train of three metres in length. The dress was handmade in Italy from ivory crepe and Leavers Lace, to match the accompanying statement veil which I adored. I can’t emphasise enough how magical a long veil is, particularly upon the bride’s initial entrance as it trails behind her, adding the most regal air to whichever choice of wedding dress.

The Bride’s Accessories: Jimmy Choo custom heels in ivory, Pragnell tiara & earrings (matching Sperling’s Mayfair engagement ring)

The Reception: The happy couple emerged from the church following the ceremony, smiling beneath an umbrella & tasteful floral arch, before whisking away in the Rolls, reportedly the very same special order for the late Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. The reception was held at Gatcombe Park, the childhood home of Peter and current residence of the fantastically spirited Princess Anne. Official photographs shared of the day were taken in Gatcombe’s dreamy Conservatory, as shared on both the Royal Family and Emilia Wickstead’s official Instagram pages.

The Wedding Planner: Peregrine Armstrong-Jones used his expertise in the details and execution of Harriet and Peter’s big day, the half-brother of Princess Margaret’s husband Antony Armstrong-Jones. Armstrong-Jones operates under brand name Bentley’s Entertainment and also planned Hugh Grant’s nuptials.
